Shit. So, I’ve not done a great job at updating this blog, have I? Almost a year since my last post. To be fair, the global pandemic has been a bit distracting.
I’m going to make a genuine effort to update this blog more regularly. Ideally, once a week – possibly more often. I find that having some kind of overarching project to blog about helps. I’ve thought of two (related) projects that might encourage me to blog more regularly, and have adapted my schedule to make time for them both.
I want to teach myself Python. I’d like to try completing the Roguelike Tutorial Revised, after first completing some introductory Python courses on Codecademy. Perhaps that project might end up as the basis for a B-OSR roguelike (but even if it doesn’t, it can’t hurt to learn a new programming language).
I want to explore data visualisation. I’m putting together an Old-School Essentials megadungeon campaign at the moment. I’d like to explore ways to capture and visualise data from that campaign, along the lines of this, this, this, this, and this.
Let’s see if I can stick to this. I’ve set aside some time tomorrow morning for the first Python tutorial.
